An astute businessman has seen not only his marriage saved by becoming a Christian but he’s also hit on a novel way to sell Christian books which really don’t shift in other retail stores in America. This one really intrigued me…

Jerry Bloom was a successful businessman in the mobile telecommunications industry (read cellular phones etc for our American cousins) and was making a very nice living thank you. However it nigh on killed his marriage, with he and his wife separating in 1999. By 2000 though Jerry had given his life to Jesus Christ and things seemed to change round - isn’t the Lord good?

Not only did Jerry get his wife and family back but now he’s running a business which both he and his wife love ‘Treasures Christian Books’. Even more impressive is the runaway success they’re now enjoying, part of which is the novel way they’ve discovered to sell books by Christian authors that nobody else can seem to sell.

“We buy what Wal-Mart returns… “ says Jerry and he simply started hoovering up all unsold books from Wal-Mart and people like them and here’s the trick… started selling them on the Internet.

His operation now operates with a 20,000 square foot warehouse, 6,500 square foot retail unit and 15 staff but here’s what’s perhaps most impressive of all. According to Jerry his Christian book business is “For online sales, …one of the top five Christian booksellers in the U.S.”
So basically he takes what others don’t want and connects with those who do want what he has via the wonderful techno wonder called the Internet. He’s even got an Ebook section too which means they don’t even have to wait for delivery if they don’t wish too!

Way to go Jerry - I like that and blessings on you, your wife and family!
